Happy New Year 2026: Reflecting on 2025 and New Goals Ahead!

Happy New Year, everyone! As we step into 2026, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past year, share some valuable lessons, and look forward to the exciting goals I’ve set for the year ahead. It’s been a journey filled with growth, challenges, and personal milestones—most notably, the loss of my blog posts from the past three years due to a technical glitch. While frustrating, this mishap was a valuable reminder to always back up my work and data. Lesson learned!

A Look Back at 2025

2025 was a year of significant personal growth and learning. Here’s a quick rundown of my achievements and experiences over the last year:

  • Books Read (5 total)
    • Aram
    • The Three-Body Problem
    • The Dark Forest
    • Iru Pakka Sinthanaigal
    • Manithanum Mirugamum
  • Physical Activity:
    • Cycling: 981 km
    • Running: 146 km
    • Walking: 814 km
    • Swimming: 75 km
    • Gym Workouts: 136 hours
    • Hiking: 2 trips
  • Movies Watched: 40
    • A diverse selection of films helped me unwind and gain new perspectives.

Fitness Journey: Progress and Adjustments

In 2025, I achieved a significant milestone by losing 15 kg! As we head into 2026, my goal is to lose another 15 kg and continue my commitment to living a healthier lifestyle. That said, I’m making some changes to my workout routine:

  • Less Swimming & Strength Training: While both have been great for my body, I’ll be dialing them down this year.
  • More Running & Long-Distance Cycling: I’m excited to push myself with more running and cycling in 2026. These activities challenge me and bring a sense of freedom.

Personal Development Goals for 2026

As much as I’ve accomplished, there’s always room to grow. Here are my goals for 2026:

  1. More Outstation Trips: Traveling more, exploring new places, and enriching my experiences will be a top priority this year.
  2. Reading More Books: Continuing my reading journey, I aim to dive deeper into more diverse topics and authors.
  3. More Brain Dumping into Paper Through Writing: I’ll be writing more—whether it’s journaling or creative writing—putting my thoughts down on paper helps me process and grow.
  4. Becoming Better at Drawing and Sketching: I’ve always wanted to improve my artistic skills, and this year, I’ll focus on making more time for drawing and sketching.
  5. DIY and Repairing: Instead of buying new items, I want to rely more on my own skills to repair things and get creative with DIY projects.

A Final Word

2025 was an incredible year, and I’m excited to keep improving and setting new personal milestones. I hope you’re all looking forward to what 2026 has to offer, whether that means chasing your fitness goals, diving into new hobbies, or simply growing as a person.

Here’s to a year of progress, happiness, and new adventures. Let’s make 2026 even better than the last!

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! 🎉
